        When someone contacts me regarding masks for occupational wear, I refer them to companies that sell NIOSH approved masks.  Brett Rosen and Melynda Sylvestre, at www.northernnaturals.com, wanted to try something comfortable.  Here is their response: "Hello Adrien! We spoke to you a couple of months ago and you sent us two of your masks to experiment with when we were working with powdered spices, herbs and foods.  Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but we have a lot of positive feedback for you now. 

        "We have used both the silk and the cotton masks when filling bags with powdered spices like cinnamon, turmeric and cayenne.  The cayenne is a good test, since if appreciable amounts get in your nose you really notice it!  There was no irritation from the powder when using either mask.  (Tried it without, just to be sure, and no question that the mask was working)  We found that it didn't interfere with our ability to smell the spice we were working on, just on how irritating it was....We also used a mask when filling bags with powdered stevia extract, which my wife finds particularly annoying to breathe in at all.  She found that what was normally an intolerable job was no problem at all. We thank you very much for allowing us to try these masks and want to tell you how happy we are with them."
